In the Montevideo HUB, we have the Supply Chain area, featuring a motivated and high-performance team where we offer a wide range of services in the supply chain connected to BASF's import, export, and transportation orders. We manage customer sample orders, material data and label creation, customs management, and supplier operations. With our team of experts, we develop solutions that enhance efficiency and agility in our operations. This means we manage the flow of goods, products, or services from the acquisition of raw materials to the delivery of the product at its destination across the Americas. The areas of Supply Chain include: Import, Export, Samples, Customs and Foreign Trade, Transport Management, Experts, and Master Data.
Main Objective of the Position:
Supporting the import operations and activities related to Foreign Trade, ensuring the application of current rules, regulations, and legislation, providing continuity and sustainability in BASF's business
Main Tasks:
- Monitoring the flow of import operations, minimizing risks and possible breaks in the chain
- Evaluation of operational performance through the analysis of KPIs
- Participate in work sessions with business units, giving visibility to operations.
- Examine and validate the documentation issued and ensuring its accuracy.
- Guarantee the deadlines for the necessary requirements by the authorities in terms of foreign trade and import licenses.
- Harmonizing import processes by working closely with legal entities,
- Participation in daily performance meetings (DPM) with a focus on reducing order time, reducing container time in port, quality of documentation and optimization of demurrage costs.
- Creation and transmission of Intercompany orders (POs)
Minimum Education and Qualification Requirements for the Position:
- Education | Graduate or advanced student of business management, engineer, supply chain management or international trade.
- Work Experience | 1 to 3 years of experience on handling import or export operations, and special regimes activities
- Languages | Advanced language skills in English. Portuguese is highly valued
- Technical Skills | Knowledge of SAP is valued
- Soft Skills | Entrepreneurial thinking, excellent communication, and customer focus. Service provider management: experience in working with external providers to create a shared vision and commitment to the targets to be achieved.
